The Parthenon Principle
The Parthenon is one of the most significant metaphors for business success.
Erecting the Parthenon took years of dedicated work and painstaking effort. Your business is the same.
Like the Parthenon, your business is also supported by pillars, each essential for your business success. If you can make these pillars stronger, even just a little, the entire structure becomes more capable of withstanding the changes of time.
Some of the pillars in your business may include Sales, Operations, Pricing, Service, Quality, Human Resources, Culture, Productivity, Profit, etc.
If you increased the strength of these by 1%, or 10%, the entire infrastructure benefits. Consider your own body as an analogy. What would be the benefit to you and how you function if you improved your leg strength by 10%? Your heart function? Your lung capacity? Your flexibility? All of these have a cumulative affect and will promote your longevity.
In what areas of your business can you make small, incremental improvements?
